About OurSCOTX

Texas law.
Open to everyone.

A dedicated home for learning about Texas court rules, constitutional principles, and the Supreme Court of Texas.

Understanding a rule should begin with a clear place to read it. Understanding a decision should lead you back to the opinion.

01 / Read

Make the material approachable.

Illustrated guides help readers enter a subject. Clear headings and comfortable reading space make it easier to stay with the material.

02 / Connect

See how the pieces relate.

Move from civil procedure to appellate practice, constitutional text, and judicial reasoning. Listen to a related podcast when a story offers another way into the subject.

03 / Verify

Return to the original source.

Read the full rule or opinion. Check the version, context, and limits of the proposition before carrying it into another setting.

Our roots

From OurObjection’s
educational library.

OurSCOTX carries forward the illustrated TRCP collection and The Texas Court Drama podcast in a separate website devoted to public education.

Here, the focus is reading and listening. The library is open without an account, a personal workspace, or a question-and-answer service.

Our scope

A growing body
of learning material.

The first collection includes 40 illustrated TRCP guides, reading paths into TRAP and the Texas Constitution, a SCOTX case study, and eight podcast episodes.

It is a starting collection, not a complete legal treatise. New educational material can be added as the project develops.
